Ferncrest Estates is located
in western Pulaski County, Arkansas and consists of 67 lots
covering approximate 300 acres. Western Pulaski County and Ferndale are rapidly developing into
an area of country homes and estates. Home sites vary from one to ten acres.
Several
horse farms also exist in the area which are larger in acreage.
These farms are well maintained and make excellent neighbors.
Residences range from neat but modest houses in the 1,500 to
2,000 square foot range to very high quality houses ranging from
6,000 to 7,000 square feet plus. A few formerly rural rustic
residences still dot the area, many being hand crafted log homes
dating back to the early 1900's.
Ferncrest is within easy commuting distance of all of the Little
Rock metropolitan area. Primary access from central city Little
Rock and West Little Rock would be 1-630 to Chenal Parkway,
Kanis Road to Walnut Grove or Stewart Road to the north entrance
off Burlingame Road.
From the South areas of Benton and Bryant, access is northbound
on Congo and Salem Roads or I-30 to I-430 to Colonel Glenn, then
east to the South entrance. Roads are mostly two-lane asphalt,
maintained by the state or county, and are of good quality.
At present, the area is rural residential with recent commercial
development being along Chenal Parkway, Bowman Road, and Markham
Street. Twin Springs, Martindale and Ferndale are unincorporated
neighborhoods nearby. Several five acre estate type developments
have previously been developed in the area and contain some of
the most beautiful homes and surroundings in the Little Rock
area, such as Chenal Downs, Western Edge Estates, Golden Pond,
Ironhorse and Chenal West Estates.
Ferncrest Estates is mostly rolling land completely covered with
trees. Several lots have beautiful building sites atop Ellis
Mountain with great views of Chenal Mountain and the
countryside. There are many level lots on the south side of
Ferncrest Estates. The 3 to 5+ acre lots provide a great amount
of privacy. None of the land is in the flood plain and drainage
is very good.
